To whom do we give? The New Testament reveals the first church’s priority in giving was first and foremost to believers, and once those needs were met, then to unbelievers: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those of the household of faith.” (Gal 6:10)
Grace and how to apply it Paul wrote in II Corinthians 8:7: “But since you excel in everything; in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in zeal and in the love we have kindled in you, see that you excel in this grace of giving.”
Our part Much of the Christian culture on prosperity is focused on people giving, with no other Biblical truth presented. Giving is an important part, but not the whole truth, and presenting only 1 element is off balance.
